To ensure a smooth tattooing experience, we recommend moisturizing and avoiding sun exposure beforehand. Next, At La Thanh Tattoo, we prioritize your comfort during sessions by ensuring proper positioning on the tattoo table or chair to minimize strain and help our artists work efficiently. We provide comfort measures like pillows or cushioning for long sessions and offer numbing cream upon request, especially for sensitive areas.
Procedure
The process of executing a large tattoo varies based on its design complexity and size. Smaller designs, like half sleeves or smaller back pieces, may take 2–4 sessions, while full sleeves or back pieces often require 4–6 or more. Each session, lasting 7–8 hours, typically focuses on specific stages such as outlining, shading, or coloring. The first session usually covers outlining, followed by shading and detailing in subsequent sessions, with final touch-ups or corrections completed in the last session to ensure perfection.
After Care
Caring for large tattoos requires more attention and time compared to smaller ones. While small tattoos heal in 2–4 weeks, larger pieces can take 1–3 months. Although the aftercare steps—cleaning, moisturizing, and covering—remain the same, larger tattoos may scab and peel more, requiring extra patience. We’ll provide you with a detailed aftercare guide to ensure the best healing results, and to give you peace of mind, we offer a 1-year free warranty. After that, touch-up sessions are available at a special discounted price.
